Removing water spots from stainless steel surfaces.

Hard water can leave deposits on stainless steel, but fortunately these are not difficult to remove. If the stains are very hard, pour some vinegar over it and let it stand for some time. Other wise you can just wet a cloth or tissue with vinegar and wipe the stains away.

If you have heavy deposits on stainless steel, you can use calcium lime rust remover (CLR) diluted in water. You can fill the sink with a solution of CLR and leave the dish rack in it overnight.

Cleaning stainless steel.

You can use a scotchbrite pad to remove stubborn deposits either dry or wet. Make sure you scrub parallel to the brush finish.
