The word "desi" is a colloquial term for things originating from the Indian subcontinent or South Asia.

Containing over a 100 recipes drawn from the length and breadth of the Indian sub-continent, this treasure trove of recipes put together by the Indian Women's Association (IWA) of Greater Lafayette is a must-have for anyone wanting to explore the world of Indian food.

Unlike most other cookbooks on Indian food, this one was compiled by people living in the USA and hence the language, methods and ingredients are particularly relevant to people living in the USA.

The IWA will donate part of the proceeds from the sale of this cookbook to the LUM (Lafayette Urban Ministry) after-school program and Heifer International.

If you are ordering just the cookbook, we can send it to you by media mail for about $3, within the continental USA.  Please request shipping by media mail in the comment box during check out.  The website will charge you more for shipping, but we will refund the difference.  If you are ordering other Zojila products at the same time, we can ship it all together and will not charge shipping cost for the cookbook.
