Pronounciation of Zojila: The j is pronounced as in the name Jill
Zojila is a design studio and housewares brand based in Lafayette, Indiana. We have been in business since 2000 and our mission is to create products that are functionally efficient, aesthetically pleasing, affordable and last for ever. This is reflected in our slogan:

We believe that one of the functions of a house ware product should be to enliven its surroundings and thereby enhance the appeal of your living space. A well-designed product invites itself to be put to use and rewards the user with a pleasant experience. Exhaustive trials and feedback from users inform our never ending product improvement. We hope you will have a wonderful experience with our products and that you will share your experience with friends and family. We believe that a good product will always sell and do not believe in advertising. However we do need your help in spreading the word about our products. This is why we request that you post reviews on our products.
Zojila is also committed to creating a better society by lending a helping hand to the underprivileged around the world. We also believe in preserving and protecting our planet for future generations. We will set aside a portion of our profits and some of our time and energy for sustained efforts in these endeavors.
Our mission is to create products that will never be thrown away. To that extent, we offer a lifetime warranty on our products, except for those that are made of breakable glass. In our business, we are guided by three principles, the first is to create great products, the second is to do no harm to the planet while doing the first and the third is to treat our customers with the greatest respect and love.
In our interactions with our customers, we are guided by what Gandhi said in a speech in S. Africa in 1890, and we quote below:
"A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption of our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider of our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us the opportunity to do so."
Zojila is a zero waste business. As for our products, they are not designed to be thrown away. We design and build them to last a lifetime and to be handed down. If they break, they are designed to be repaired and our life time warranty is proof of our commitment to keep our products from the landfill. Many Zojila products have material content sourced from overseas locations such as China, India, S. America as well as USA and partial labor content in the form of surface finishing, assembly operations etc sourced from the USA.
We reuse packaging materials. Most of the outer boxes that we use to ship out orders are not brand new. We collect boxes and packaging materials from businesses, stores and homes. We try to do the best we can to remove old labels and such. The inner product box is always pristine and new from the factory. By doing this we keep costs down for us and for our customers. So, please don't be surprised to see other companies' markings on our shipping boxes. Be glad that you have helped reduce our carbon footprint by accepting this practice of ours.
About the designer:
Rony Joseph is the founder and chief designer at Zojila. He is a mechanical engineer with experience in the automotive, aerospace, renewable energy and instrumentation fields. Rony's passion for sustainable living and interest in minimalism, design and cooking influence the development of every Zojila product.
