Zojila 'Rohan' Dish Drainer

Which side does the water drain out?

Of the two 18" long sides of the drainboard, one is lower than the other. This would be the edge that overhangs the sink. Water drains out from the center of this edge.

Does water drain out all along the 18" long side?

No, the shape of the board ensures that water from anywhere on the board runs to the center of the board and then drains out from the center of the 18" long side into the sink. See picture of water draining.

My sink is 16" wide. Will it still work with the 'Rohan' dish drainer?

Absolutely. The 'Rohan' dish drainer will work perfectly with a 16" wide sink. Water only drains out from a central 1" wide region.

I have a corner sink installation. Will it work?

Yes, the 'Rohan' dish drainer was designed to work in a corner sink installation. See picture.

What if I don't want to keep the dishdrainer by the sink all the time?

If you would rather keep the dish drainer at a location other than by the sink, you can still make it work by putting a small tray underneath the front end to catch the water draining out. This is possible since the water only drains out from the center. In the future we plan to offer such a tray as an accessory.

Will the dish drainer mark or scuff a Corian surface if dragged across it?

Corian surfaces can be scuffed very easily, however the scuff marks can also be polished out quite easily. We have added plastic covers to the rounded ball feet of the Rohan dish drainer, primarily to enhance grip on counter tops. This increased grip prevents movement when cleaning the board in place by the sink. An added benefit of the plastic covers is that it is very resistant to sliding and the soft plastic cannot scuff any counter top, let alone scratch it.

Will the dish rack damage my dishes? Does it have a plastic coating?

The 'Rohan' dish rack is made of stainless steel wire. The wire is polished and nickel coated. It does not have a plastic coating. We have not been able to inflict damage on dishes by mere usage of the rack. The wires have some give to them and will flex to prevent damage. We do not feel that plastic coating is necessary.

Is the dish drainer dish washer safe?

Dish washers cannot harm the products since they are made of stainless steel. However, they may not be able to achieve spot free cleaning. Hence we do not recommend it for the dish rack and the drain board. We do recommend it for the cutlery holder.

How do I clean the dish drainer?

Please see cleaning instructions in the Product Care section.

Is the cutlery/spoon holder detachable?

Yes, the cutlery holder is a separate piece and can be lifted off from the rack. It can be hung inside or outside the rack. It also has a removable divider. The rack also can be lifted off from the drain board and has its own feet.

Does stainless steel rust?

Stainless steels are characterized by a high content of Nickel, that helps form a protective coating on the surface against corrosion as experienced by iron and steel. However there are some conditions under which stainless steels can corrode. These include situations where water rich in chlorides is stagnant on the surface for an extended period of time. This situation would not apply to the Zojila drainboard since it does not collect water. In rare cases, certain minerals in the water can cause the formation of brown spots on the surface. These are not rust spots, but deposits which can be easily removed if cleaned promptly. The cleaner 'Zud' is found to be effective in removing these brown spots. If iron or steel items are placed on the dish rack, these items can rust and the resulting stain can spread to the stainless steel surface also. But this stain can also be washed away from the stainless steel. If the stainless steel surface is contaminated by iron particles, by cleaning with steel wool, these particles can rust and show brown spots. Repeated cleaning will get rid of these rusting foreign particles.

Zojila 'Sonora' Sponge/soap holder and dish

How is the sponge/soap holder & dish meant to be used?

This product can be used in several ways depending on what is most appropriate for you.

A. You can use the top shelf just to hold a sponge in which case the bottom dish acts as a drip tray.

B. You can use the top shelf as described above but use the bottom dish to hold diluted soap solution. Just add some concentrate and fill two-thirds with water. When you hand wash dishes, set aside the top shelf so that you can dip into the soap solution conveniently. After washing, rinse and squeeze the sponge before placing it back on the top tray so that it does not drip into the bottom tray.

C. You can use the top shelf to hold a bar of soap and the bottom dish as a drip tray.
